Estrogen/Progesterone Balancing for Women |

Estrogen is an essential sex hormone that declines abruptly in women during their menopause. When women do not initiate a prompt estrogen replacement program at the time of menopause, they undergo accelerated aging manifested by: osteoporosis, senility, heart disease, loss of muscle mass, loss of skin elasticity and thickness, atrophy of the female genitalia, and depression.
Estrogen replacement therapy significantly delays or prevents this accelerated aging process seen in women following menopause. In fact, women who take estrogen replacement have half the degenerative diseases of women who do not take estrogen replacement and live an average of 3.5 years longer. What is even more amazing, is that these positive statistics are with those patients on Premarin (non-human estrogen taken from the urine of pregnant horses). Progesterone is also a female sex hormone that keeps estrogen in balance and is therefore absolutely necessary in the female hormone replacement program regardless of whether the female has a uterus or not.
This concept is not understood by some physicians and this has lead to an increase in cancers of the uterus and breast in women on estrogen replacement, alone. Progesterone has powerful anti-cancer properties. In addition, Progesterone facilitates the action of other hormones such as thyroid, testosterone, and endorphins. Synthetic progesterones (progestins) such as Provera lack many of the beneficial properties of Progesterone and in fact actually serve to increase LDL "the bad form of cholesterol". Provera also does not have the beneficial effect that Progesterone has in increasing bone mass, reversing osteoporosis, and burning fat. CHI uses natural progresterone replacement in our female HRT program as indicated by the individual's blood levels. |

| Optimizing Fertility in Men and Women |
Bio-identical (identical as human) hormone replacement therapy, by restoring natural hormone balance, will greatly improve the probability of having a healthy pregnancy. In some cases, a woman may prevent the necessity of treatment at a fertility clinic. There are published reports in the literature with previously infertile women that, after natural hormone replacement, can proceed with normal pregnancies. |

| Progesterone Treatment for Men |
Progesterone is produced by the adrenal glands with levels declining in men throughout their lives. Men become symptomatic and notice fat building up in his breasts and difficulty with urination related to his prostate. Progesterone works by reducing levels of estradiol and DHT, which helps control these problems in men. Additionally, progesterone helps keep the production of aldosterone, cortisol and androgens in balance. Also, progesterone stimulates sperm motility and as such is an aid in male fertllity. |
